International Monetary Fund (IMF)Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva (Kristalina Georgieva) To Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka) Praised India for helping. Sri Lanka is going through the worst economic crisis since its independence and there is a shortage of food and fuel. India is being lauded all over the world for helping Sri Lanka, which is facing the worst economic crisis. He was accompanied by Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sithara (Nirmala Sitaraman) Assured that the organization will continue to work actively with this bilateral country.
Georgieva made the remarks to Finance Minister Sitharaman during the spring meeting of the IMF-World Bank (WB) in Washington DC. The Finance Minister and IMF MD were accompanied by senior officials like Chief Economic Adviser Anant V Nageshwaran and IMF FDMD Geeta Gopinath. Georgia also mentioned an effective policy mix after India. The ministry said in a statement that it appreciated India’s contribution to the IMF’s capacity building activities.

According to the finance ministry, he also praised India for providing COVID-19 relief assistance to other countries. According to the ministry, Georgia also discussed India’s targeted policies, which have helped keep the Indian economy afloat despite the global crisis. Georgieva also congratulated India on its successful vaccination program during the Covid 19 epidemic, the finance ministry said. He also lauded India for helping the countries in need of Kovid 19.
During his talks with Georgia, Sitharaman emphasized India’s commitment to supporting economic growth through capital expenditure. The ministry said the Union Minister pointed out that along with India’s liberal fiscal stance, major structural reforms and strong monetary policies have helped India’s economic recovery.
While discussing the current geopolitical developments, Nirmala Sitharaman and Georgieva expressed concern over the global impact of the Sri Lankan crisis and their challenges in dealing with rising energy prices. Sri Lanka is going through the worst economic crisis since its independence. Sri Lanka has food and fuel shortages and a large number of people have been affected by rising inflation and power cuts. This has led to large-scale anti-government protests in Sri Lanka. The public believes that the government has failed to handle the crisis. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived in Washington on Monday.
