The DGCA said that on May 7, Indigo employees misbehaved with a differently-crippled child at Ranchi airport and this made the situation worse. Earlier, the DGCA’s fact-finding committee had found Indigo employees violating the rules and issued a show cause notice to the company.
On the decision to impose a fine on Indigo, the DGCA said, “Based on the findings of the investigation into the landing of a disabled child in Ranchi, a show cause notice was issued to Indigo Airlines by an authorized representative. In view of this, the competent authority in DGCA has decided to impose a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the airline under the provisions of the relevant aircraft rules. ”

Indigo has clarified this
Indigo said in a statement on May 9 after the incident that the disabled child was not allowed to board the plane because he was clearly nervous. After the child was not allowed to board the flight from Ranchi to Hyderabad, his parents also decided not to board the plane.
Indigo employees did not work according to rules: DGCA
The DGCA sent a notice to the company, saying that according to the committee’s investigation, Indigo employees did not treat passengers properly and did not act in accordance with the applicable rules. The DGCA said that in view of this, it has been decided to issue a show cause notice to the company through its authorized representative.
