Victory was certain
England started the fourth day at 216 for five. She was 61 runs away from victory. Root extended his innings to 77 and was joined by Ben Fox who started the innings with nine runs. These two did not allow New Zealand to achieve any success. Root completed his century without any difficulty. Fox was unbeaten on 32. The duo put on 118 for the sixth wicket to lead the team to victory. Fox faced 92 balls and hit three fours.
Harassed Kyle Geminis
On the third day of the match, New Zealand’s young right-arm fast bowler Kyle Geminis was very upset with England. He took the wickets of Alex Lees (20), Jack Crowley (9), Johnny Bairstow (16) and Stokes. Other than that Trent Bolt managed to get success in the second inning. He dismissed Oli Pope (10). Earlier, two New Zealand batsmen batted brilliantly and in the second innings, New Zealand reached a good score. Daryl Mitchell scored 108 and Tom Blundle 96. Mitchell and Blundle shared a 195-run partnership that allowed New Zealand to cross 250 runs.
