Wembley, London:
We, at The Aura, would like to extend our sincerest apologies and condolences to those affected by the tragic encounter that took place, resulting in the death of a young male. We can only imagine the trauma and suffering the family of Givani Espuet are going through. On our end, at The Aura, we have been assisting the police in order to help and support them in acquiring justice for Givani Espuet. With the aid of our CCTV footage provided to the police, this has resulted in 6 potential suspects who allegedly have connections to the murder of Givani Espuet, to be placed in police custody. All suspects whom have been arrested have no involvement, ties nor connections with The Aura, so focusing the blame on us has left us none other than confused. We don’t appreciate the anger, hatred and violence, that our family of 50+ members is now facing since this fatal incident that took place in the vicinity, but not within our premises. Out of respect for the affected parties, we closed the establishment for 22 days. Hence, we also urge media outlets to understand the sensitivity of the situation.
This has deeply saddened us, as we only chose to support Givani Espuet and his family in their fight to justice. In solidarity with the Espuet Family, we showed our sincere support to the ‘Drop a Knife, Save a Life Foundation’, to contribute to solving this unfortunate phenomenon on a bigger scale. This has affected The Aura and it’s employees both short and long-term. For example our staff rely on the income they receive to provide and take care of their families. We understand the anger and agony that many feel towards this whole occurrence. However, directing that towards innocent workers, who are only working to make a living for themselves and their families is not justifiable and we have been left no choice but to speak up and defend our staff, our brand, and our reputation. The protests outside the premises are not justified. Unfortunately, due to some baseless claims, we as a company have suffered a huge loss. We are being attacked on a daily basis through demonstrations of protest and defamation, due to which our source of income has come to a standstill for reasons unknown. The unfortunate proceedings of this happening has now turned into misdirected anger and hate. We at Aura love to foster and nurture a place where all cultures feel safe celebrating life together. It is incredibly disheartening to see a false narrative dividing the loving community that we have here. To ensure that, we are reinstating our pre-exiting policies to ensure the security of our customers within our radius of our control. This includes our professionally equipped and trained Security Teams, metal detectors on entry, with a stricter search policy and entry strictly through bookings.
We thank the public’s ongoing love and support through these unprecendented times, including hand-written letters from 60+ members of public and neighbouring businesses.
