A large number of teachers gathered in Amreli. A dharna demonstration was staged by the Gujarat State Teachers Employees United Front. Employees from the districts including Rajkot, Surendranagar, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar and Botad of Saurashtra zone gathered at Amreli. The teachers have demanded that the government should implement the old pension scheme. He has also put his demands regarding PF. The teachers protested with banners in their hands.
They have been demanding implementation of old pension scheme in the state for a long time. The teachers have demanded that the pre-2005 employees should get the benefit of the old pension scheme. Just a few days ago, the state education minister gave a statement regarding this that the Modi government will take a good decision regarding the old pension scheme. OPS is not only an education issue but a question of 26 departments.

After this statement of the Education Minister, while the employees are seeing a ray of hope, the teachers are again holding protests by strengthening the demand of OPS.
