Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai Indians in the eighth match of IPL 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad made a record breaking score of 277 runs in 20 overs batting first. In reply, the Mumbai team could score only 246 runs and Hyderabad won by 31 runs. Although the Mumbai batsmen batted well in the match and gave Hyderabad a tough fight, in the end the win went to SRH.

Victory of Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s victory was decided by its batsmen. Henrik Klaasen scored the highest unbeaten 80 off 34 balls. 7 sixes came out of Klaasen’s bat. Abhishek Sharma scored 63 runs off 23 balls, the player also hit 7 sixes. Travis Head scored 62 off 24 balls. Apart from this, Aidan Markram scored an unbeaten 42 runs.
Performance of Mumbai batsmen
Mumbai batsmen also showed their strength on a batting friendly wicket. Tilak Verma played an innings of 64 runs in 34 balls. Tim David also scored an unbeaten 42 runs. Ishan Kishan scored 34 runs off 13 balls and Naman Dhir scored 30 runs off 14 balls to challenge Hyderabad. But Mumbai skipper Hardik Pandya’s slow innings led the team to defeat. Pandya scored 24 runs at a strike rate of just 120.
Poor condition of the bowlers
In the match between Mumbai and Hyderabad, the condition of the bowlers worsened. There were four bowlers who gave more than 50 runs. Kwena Mfaka gave the highest 66 runs in 4 overs. Gerald Kotjeya scored 57 runs in 4 overs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored 53 runs in 4 overs and Mayank Markande scored 52 runs in 4 overs.
Mumbai at number nine in the points table
Mumbai Indians have suffered their second consecutive defeat and due to this they have dropped to number nine in the points table. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad improved their net run rate with a 31-run win and are now third in the points table.
