AN INFERNO has torn through several London flats this evening as thick black smoke continues to bellow from the building.
The blaze is understood to have broken out in a four-storey block of flats on Dalston Lane, Hackney, at around 5.20pm this evening.

Emergency services are yet to bring the flames under control, as hundreds of horrified onlookers watch the chaotic scene.

Footage shows the evening sky full with the smog as crowds gather outside.
It also appears the blaze has completely ravaged several top floor flats, leaving just a few charred roof beams precariously in place.
The cause of the fire is unknown and it remains unclear how many properties have been scorched.
At present 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters are battling the fire.
Crews from Homerton, Stoke Newington, Bethnal Green, Walthamstow and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
Firefighters are being supported by a 32 metre turntable ladder to help extinguish the inferno.
A heavy blue light presence remains in the area and road closures are in place.
Locals have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
It is not known if there have been any casualties but The Sun has contacted The London Ambulance Service for more information.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed: “Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters have been called to a building fire on Dalston Lane in #Hackney.
“Please keep windows and doors shut due to smoke and avoid the area whilst we work to extinguish the fire.
“More information soon.”
In their latest update the fire service stated: “Firefighters continue to work at the scene of a fire affecting the roof of a four-storey block of flats on Dalston Lane in #Hackney.
“Please continue to avoid the area at this time.”
