Visa Free Entry: Good news for Indian people. Now visitors to Thailand from India need not worry about visa. The Thai government has decided to allow visa-free travel for two months to boost tourism. This policy of the Government of Thailand, announced with a view to tourism, includes 93 countries, including India.
Thailand's tourism industry is facing challenges in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. To counter this, Thailand has implemented new measures to attract visitors from around the world. These measures mainly include relaxation of visa regulations.
This rule will be applicable from next month
Recent decisions include allowing workers from other countries to stay longer, graduate students and retirees. The Thai government is expecting this to strengthen the economy. This decision of the Thai government will come into effect from next month. In which tourists from 93 countries will get an opportunity to visit Thailand for a period of 60 days.
Visas have been extended for workers
Along with this, workers from other countries will get the benefit of an extended visa period of five years. In which 180 days discount will be given in each investment. Known for its affordable prices and beautiful islands, Thailand has long been a popular travel destination for travelers from around the world.
In the year 2023 itself, 2.45 crore foreign tourists reached Thailand. The Thai government aims to attract 25 to 30 million tourists annually. Along with the capital Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai as well as the historic cities of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai are major tourist destinations. A large number of Indian tourists visit Thailand every year.
