Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) has been subjected to a cyber attack, with its official email account and YouTube channel hacked. The cyber attack took place on Friday at 4 pm according to US time. According to media reports, the target of the attack was an email ID used by the Information Wing of the Permanent Mission.
The report quoted sources as saying that Mission's YouTube channel was also tampered with and cyber attackers changed its name, banner and content. The Pakistani UN Mission has requested that all emails and videos posted on their channels be ignored until they regain control of their accounts. No group or organization has claimed responsibility for the cyber attack.

Ambassador Munir Akram said at the Global Round Table on ICT Security Capacity Building that international cooperation in the field of capacity building at the same level is an important measure for a secure, stable and peaceful ICT (Information and Communication Technology) environment.
