As a result, more than a dozen roads in the city were flooded, houses and shops were also inundated in several low-lying areas. However, AMUCO Chairman Devang Dani is claiming that the situation in the city is under control. They claim that most of the water logging sites are clear. All under passes are on. Officers from all zones are working in the field. When the rain stops, the water is drained. Dewang Dani has claimed to repair the damaged part in Hatkeshaw and start again.
The Standing Chairman claimed that the rains have receded and all the underpasses in the metropolis are open. Traffic is normal. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation officers are working in all zones including North, South, North West Zone and Central Zone.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Shehzad Khan Pathan visited the control room and inspected the rain situation. The opposition leader has questioned the functioning of the AMC. He said that AMC claims that 110 spots have been worked on during rains and now there is no waterlogging when the fact is that these 110 spots are getting waterlogged and other new spots have also been added which were not waterlogged before. And from this year water filling has started.
Shahzad Khan said that the city's Dani Limda area, Vatwa, Lambha, Maninagar and other areas are flooded. The entire city of Ahmedabad turns into a swimming pool in just 2 inches of rain. AMC has been ruled by BJP for 20 years, and every year the authorities claim that the roads will not get flooded in monsoons and the ground reality is quite the opposite.
Shahzad Khan added that on the one hand, Ahmedabad is preparing to host the Olympics, but after an inch of rain, rivers start flowing through the city, officials are corrupting crores of rupees in the budget passed in the name of pre-monsoon. People from the western part of the city pay the highest tax, where Model Road and Haifa Road are also flooded. Be it Sindhu Bhawan Road or SG Highway, all these areas become waterlogged in two inches of rain. Which shows that BJP's development gets washed away as soon as monsoon comes.
