Rajkot-based Saurashtra University, synonymous with controversies, has come to the fore. In the recruitment process, which has been suspended since the year 2019, the matter has suddenly become heated as the professor was recruited overnight. The overnight recruitment of 10 professors and one associate professor was ordered in the university. A year ago this university started the recruitment process. In which the recruitment of professors was dropped due to controversy.
Now the university has come under controversy for doing the same recruitment process overnight. It has been alleged that the alleged obsessions have been taken as professors. Mathematics Education and Hindi Bhavan called only one candidate for interview. The recruitment of professors was announced in the year 2019 and the recruitment process was started in the year 2023 and created a controversy.
Recruitment of 10 professors and one assistant professor was done overnight
As many as 10 professors and one assistant professor have been suddenly given appointment letters. A new common act has been implemented by the state government regarding Saurashtra University. Under this new common act, any recruitment process has to be reported to the board of management and then this recruitment process has to be done. Today this appointment letter has been given by the chancellor and registrar of Saurashtra University in a closed door meeting. Due to which many controversies have arisen. The registrar has claimed that these appointment letters have been issued due to the current state government notification and shortage of faculty. Now it has to be seen what kind of action the education department takes now.
Congress leader Nidat Barot came to the defense of the university
However, Congress leader Nidat Barot has come to the defense of the university in this whole matter. He said that the recruitment process has been delayed by a year. After completing the interview process in this recruitment, some people presented to the state government. In which the state government was made up of five members. The committee submitted the entire report to the Commissioner of Higher Education, whose office would have forwarded the report to the Education Department. After which the state government said that the recruitment experience of the person we have recruited should be taken into consideration. Controversy was created by writing to the state government regarding the years of experience. The selected candidates are appointed today considering the relevant experience.
