Surat's Shivshakti Textile Market has a terrible fire across the state. At the direction of the Chief Minister, a special team of high officials from Gandhinagar has reached Surat, which is in detail and detailed investigation into the incident. In view of the huge losses in the incident, the textile traders have demanded immediate relief package from the state government, so that the economic loss can be raised.
Upon completion of the investigation, the team will submit its detailed report to the Chief Minister, based on which appropriate steps will be taken for the victim traders. Adequate assistance and sensation from the state government is expected to be announced.
This ferocious fire in the Shivshakti textile market was overcome after 32 hours of uninterrupted hard work. More than 40 fire department trains were set on fire by running more than 40 million liters of water. After the fire was extinguished, slabs of some fourth and fifth -storey shops were collapsed, and five shops also saw an overview of a normal fire.
The fire began on February 25 in the basement, which was extinguished by the fire department after heavy efforts. But at 7am on February 26, the fire woke up again and soon assumed the terrible form. The cause of the fire may probably be the water containing electric wiring after the cooling process in the basement. It is also likely that someone has tried to turn on the switch.
Shivshakti Market was founded in 1996 by two brothers – Bhupath Patel and Arun Patel. There are 822 shops on a total of 6 floors in the market, out of which about 700 shops have been completely burnt. The average price of a shop is between 60 lakh and 1 crore, and each shop had an estimated 12 to 15 lakh goods. On this basis, the total loss is estimated at more than Rs 850 crore.
