The International Cricket Council is a global governing body of cricket. It was founded in London in 1909 in the form of an Imperial Cricket Conference. The ICC decides on all major decisions connected with cricket. Also organizes all the big cricket tournaments.
It was named International Council in 1987. But the Headquarters of the International Cricket Council is currently in Dubai. The biggest question then is why this ICC headquarters has been shifted to Dubai?
Why was the ICC headquarters shifted to Dubai?
As you can tell, the International Cricket Council headquarters was in London for 96 years but was then shifted to Dubai. There were several important reasons behind this. In which the rising expenses as well as the lack of lack were an important question. So this big decision has been taken in view of the relief in tax rules in Dubai and the transfer of cricket power in Asia. It was an expensive deal for the ICC to keep its headquarters in London at that time. Then ICC chairman Ahsan Money and Chief Executive Malcom Speed worked on this.
When the ICC made this decision, many cricket players did not have a double-taxation agreement with England. Which means that they had to pay more taxes on the financial transactions they had in England. On the other hand, Dubai was a tax -free country, which was more beneficial to the ICC.
