Kashmir Pahalgam Terror Attack: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday (April 26) said that Pakistan is ready to participate in any “impartial and transparent” investigation into the murder of 26 people in Kashmir Pahalgam. He said that Pakistan condemned all kinds of terrorism and itself has also been a victim of terrorism.
On April 22, terrorists opened fire in the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Most of the tourists were killed in the attack. At least 26 people were killed and many were injured in the attack.
‘Ready to take part in a reliable investigation’
Addressing the Passing-Out Parade at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, Shahbaz Sharif said that India was making baseless and false accusations against Pakistan without any reliable investigation or verified evidence, according to a report by Don.com. The Pakistani PM said that while continuing the role as a responsible country, Pakistan is willing to participate in any impartial, transparent and reliable investigation.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif once again raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “I should emphasize the importance of Kashmir, because the founder of the nation, Kaus-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Zina, said that Kashmir is the vein of Pakistan.”
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has always condemned terrorism all its forms and expressions. Describing Pakistan as the leading country in the world against terrorism, he said, “We have suffered huge losses, including 90,000 casualties and economic loss of over $ 600 billion.”
Tensions between India and Pakistan are at its peak
Tensions between India and Pakistan have reached its peak after the Pahalgam attack. New Delhi has taken several stringent diplomatic and strategic action against Islamabad. These include immediate suspension of the 1960 Indus Water Treaty, Closing the balcony integrated check post, immediate suspension of visa services for Pakistani citizens, etc. Following these decisions in India, Pakistan has taken some steps such as postponing the Shimla agreement and closing its airstream for Indian flights.
