DONALD Trump has slammed the UN for a “triple sabotage” and “sinister events” after he was awkwardly made to trudge up a broken escalator.
The president fumed the people behind the so-called “sabotage” should be arrested as he and Melania could have fallen “face first” on the “sharp” step.
Jumping onto his Truth Social platform he said: “It was only that we were each holding the handrail tightly or, it would have been a disaster.”
He was entering the UN headquarters in New York City on Tuesday when the drama started.
Awkward video footage captured the moment Melania, wearing a white suit and white heels, walked in front of her husband and stepped on the escalator after he signaled for her to move forward.
But just seconds after getting on, the stairs came to a complete stop, forcing the first lady to tightly grip the railing and keep herself from stumbling.
On Sunday, The Times reported that some United Nation staff members had joked that they may “turn off the escalators and elevators and simply tell [Trump] they ran out of money, so he has to walk up the stairs.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called for an investigation to be launched into any intentional wrongdoings staff members at the UN may have committed during Trump’s visit.
Referencing the alleged interference, he raged: “his was absolutely sabotage, as noted by a day’s earlier “post” in The London Times that said UN workers “joked about turning off an escalator.” The people that did it should be arrested!
When Trump took the stage to give an address later that morning, he was stunned to learn that his teleprompter wasn’t working.
“It was stone cold dark,” he said in his latest post, adding that his first thought to himself was: “what kind of place is this?”
He said: “As I stood before a Television crowd of millions of people all over the World, and important Leaders in the Hall, my teleprompter didn’t work.
“It was stone cold dark. I immediately thought to myself, “Wow, first the escalator event, and now a bad teleprompter. What kind of a place is this?”
He later cited the “third sabotage” – the moment he was informed the sound had been off during his speech – and called for an immediate investigation.
At the time, Trump started his speech by joking about the broken tech and bringing up the escalator error.
Despite the difficulties, Trump said that he was “very happy” to be on the stage and said he could speak “more from the heart.”

A REAL DISGRACE took place at the United Nations yesterday — Not one, not two, but three very sinister events! First, the escalator going up to the Main Speaking Floor came to a screeching halt. It stopped on a dime.

I immediately thought to myself, “Wow, first the escalator event, and now a bad teleprompter. What kind of a place is this?” I then proceeded to make a Speech without a teleprompter, which kicked in about 15 minutes later.
The good news is the Speech has gotten fantastic reviews. Maybe they appreciated the fact that very few people could have done what I did. And third, after making the Speech, I was told that the sound was completely off in the Auditorium where the Speech was made, that World Leaders, unless they used the interpreters’ earpieces, couldn’t hear a thing.
The first person I saw at the conclusion of the Speech was Melania, who was sitting right up front. I said, “How did I do?” And she said, “I couldn’t hear a word you said.” This wasn’t a coincidence, this was triple sabotage at the UN. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
I’m sending a copy of this letter to the Secretary General, and I demand an immediate investigation. No wonder the United Nations hasn’t been able to do the job that they were put in existence to do.
All security tapes at the escalator should be saved, especially the emergency stop button. The Secret Service is involved. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
“I can only say that whoever is operating the teleprompter is in big trouble,” Trump joked, before referencing printed papers that he brought up with him.
But Trump didn’t fully let go of the annoyances during his speech, later bringing them up as proof that the UN is useless.
At one point, Trump accused the UN of merely sending “strongly worded” letters to countries in conflict instead of negotiating peace.
Reflecting this same sentiment in his post, he slammed the organisation for not doing the job “that they were put in existence to do”.
TRUMP’S SPEECH
Trump dedicated most of his address to his administration’s wins, and urged his opponents to follow the path he’s paved since stepping back into office.
He told assembly members to end the “failed experiment of open borders” and said, “The United Nations is funding an assault on Western countries” with liberal immigration policies.
Trump took a hit at London’s left-leaning mayor Sadiq Khan, and said the city is headed for “Sharia law,” which is based on religious rules from the Islamic tradition.
He also slammed climate change as the “greatest con job ever perpetrated in the world,” in the midst of the UN’s Climate Week, which promotes the acceleration of green energy initiatives.
“Get away from the green scam or your countries will fail,” he said.
Trump said that many of his actions have been worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize, and that “everyone” says he should get it.
“Everyone says that I should get the Nobel Peace Prize for each one of these achievements, but for me, the real prize will be the sons and daughters who live to grow up with their mothers and fathers, because millions of people are no longer being killed in endless and unglorious wars,” he said.
