A new dawn?
THE historic and deeply emotional release of the Israeli hostages yesterday was Mission Number One accomplished for President Trump.
For the last 20 survivors to finally walk to freedom after more than 700 days shackled underground in the bowels of hell was an incredible moment.
Men like Evyatar David — forced at one point by his vile captors to dig his own grave — are now safely back in the arms of their families.
How this must stick in the throats of those vile middle-class “protesters” in London who tore down yellow ribbons put up to keep memories of the hostages alive.
But what comes next, following the summit of 20 world leaders in Egypt yesterday, is crucial.
Raw American power and Israel’s determination to withstand huge international pressure combined to stop the war.
Whatever claims of involvement the British Government makes, the ceasefire certainly wasn’t achieved by allowing weekly hate marches on our streets and offering pointless political recognition of Palestine.
Key has been America’s success in persuading Arab countries in the region that the days of handing over billions to fund Hamas terrorists has to end.
If the Middle East really is to see a new dawn rising, that coalition must hold.

Chinese riddle
THERE is no question that China is a deep threat to Britain.
Beijing, already targeting MPs with blackmail attempts, is also partly responsible for a 50 per cent rise in cyberwarfare attacks.
We STILL don’t know why evidence of this threat — which would have enabled prosecutors to bring a case against two alleged spies — wasn’t handed over.
And why is the Government allowing a new Chinese Embassy housing a nest of spies to be built over highly sensitive information cables in London?
Could it, in fact, all be connected to Rachel Reeves’ much-heralded trade trip to China which gained us a paltry £600million?
Ministers are still shamefully refusing to reveal the truth.
French farce
ISN’T it fascinating how the French — so inept at stopping illegal migrants leaving their shores — are so keen to enforce new border rules for Brits entering Calais?
Young men from Islamic countries have their dinghies helpfully escorted into UK waters.
But Brits hoping for two weeks camping in the Dordogne must endure a four-hour wait to be quizzed and finger-printed on arrival.
So much for Keir Starmer’s promises of closer ties with Europe.
