These include signs of 'automatic renewal' of work permits and a reduction in 'H-1B visas' at universities.

According to media reports, Donald Trump has advocated reducing the number of people entering his country legally. Vance made the statement at the University of Mississippi's Turning Point event. “The number of legal immigrants we're allowing in is far below the target number,” Vance said.
He criticized former President Joe Biden's immigration policies, which he said allowed too many people into the country and threatened the social fabric of the United States.
“When something like this happens, you have to allow your society to come together, to develop a sense of common identity, so that all the new people who come here can integrate into American culture. Until you do that, you don't even think about more immigrants,” Vance said.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has asked the state's universities to stop hiring international workers through the H-1B visa program. Currently, there are approximately 400 foreigners working under H-1B visas at Florida's public universities. Universities are hiring foreigners under H-1B visas instead of qualified Americans, he said. More than 70% of H-1B visa recipients are Indians.
