
An explosion has occurred in the building of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, in which 12 people have been injured. According to preliminary information, a gas cylinder burst in the basement canteen of the Supreme Court, causing a powerful explosion. Staff injured, incident during AC repair work
According to local reports, most of the injured workers were carrying out repairs near the AC plant. He has been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated. It is learned that the cafeteria located in the basement is reserved only for the employees of the Supreme Court.
Two in critical condition
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Islamabad IGP Ali Nasir Rizvi said that gas was leaking from the canteen for the past several days. He said the explosion took place during AC repair. “Even experts have confirmed that it was a gas explosion,” he said. The police chief said 12 people were injured, two of them critically, while an AC technician suffered severe burns. About 80% of his body is burnt.
