Surat's diamond industry, struggling to recover from the pressure of recession, is seeing a ray of hope again. People connected with the industry are saying that there has been a significant increase in demand in the market due to the Christmas festivities. Especially in the month of November, there has been a clear boom in the diamond business, due to which there is a possibility of increase in business and employment. Traders believe that the orders received during the festive season could almost double the employment.
Although some American orders had previously returned, the diamond industry has maintained its momentum. Currently there is a huge surge in demand for natural as well as lab and lab grown diamonds, resulting in new employment opportunities for workers.
The diamond industry, which has been under the effects of recession for a long time, now seems to be getting stronger with the help of Christmas. A significant increase in exports has been recorded especially in the month of November as orders from the US resume due to the festive season. Along with the diamond industry as well as other jewelery sectors, traders are hoping to generate more employment in the coming time.
