Often, when we feel a little hungry in the evening, we want to eat something spicy and delicious. If you're tired of the same old sandwiches or fritters, bread pizza pockets can be a great option. Not only is it easy to make, but from kids to adults, everyone loves its pizza-like taste.
The best thing about pizza pockets is that they don't require an oven or a stove. You can make crispy, cheesy snacks similar to store-bought snacks using regular bread. Let's learn their simple recipe.
material
- Bread slices- 8-10 (white or brown)
- Finely chopped vegetables – capsicum, onion, sweet corn and carrot
- Pizza sauce – 3-4 tbsp
- Mozzarella cheese – 1/2 cup (shredded)
- Chilli flakes and oregano – as per taste
- Plain pudding – 2 tbsp flour and little water (to stick the pockets together)
- Oil – for frying
- Breadcrumbs (for extra crispy)
method of making
- First, place the finely chopped vegetables in a large bowl. Add pizza sauce, grated cheese, chili flakes, oregano and a pinch of salt and mix well. Your spicy stuffing is ready.
- Now, cut all four edges of the bread slice with a knife. Take a rolling pin and flatten it by gently pressing it. This will make the bread thinner and easier to fill with the stuffing.
- Then, place a spoonful of the prepared filling in the center of the bread. Apply a thick mixture of flour and water to the edges of the bread. Fold the bread in half and seal the edges tightly with your fingers or a fork. Be careful not to leave the edges open, otherwise the cheese may spill while frying.
- Now heat oil in a pan. If you want to make it extra crispy, dip the prepared pockets in flour batter and coat them in breadcrumbs. Fry on medium heat until golden brown. If you like less oil, you can also use an air fryer.
How to serve
