
Two persons from Anand's Vasad and Zhankharia have been freed from the human trafficking network. The Government of India had undertaken a special campaign to bring back these Gujaratis who were victims of fraud by the agents of Mumbai.
The news of relief has come for two Gujarati young men and women of Anand district who were victims of fraud after their dreams of going to America. A young woman from Vasad and a young man from Zhankharia, who were held hostage in Azerbaijan, have now been successfully rescued under the Indian government's 'Operation Mahisagar'.
According to the details of the incident, agents in Mumbai lured the duo to send them to Canada via America. However, he was taken to Azerbaijan and imprisoned. The kidnappers sent the video of beating the youth on WhatsApp and extorted 65 lakh rupees from the family and also threatened to sell his kidney if they did not get more money.
In this matter, Anand's MP, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and made an urgent presentation to the Home Ministry. After that, the teams of the Indian Embassy and the Ministry of External Affairs worked together and released both of them. Anand Gramya Police and LCB have registered a case against five persons involved in this human trafficking racket and stepped up action to nab the agents. Both will be brought back to India soon after completion of the legal process.
