President Draupadi Murmu addressed the 18th Lok Sabha and gave a big message to the elders of the country. The session of Lok Sabha has started from 24th June. Then on Thursday, he said that all senior citizens who have crossed the age of 70 will be treated under the Ayushman Yojana. The Bharatiya Janata Party also made this promise in its manifesto released at the time of the Lok Sabha elections.
President Murmu said in the Parliament House on Thursday that, in the new government, we are giving the benefit of Ayushman to all people above 70 years of age. Not only this, the government is continuously working for the farmers. 20 thousand crore rupees were transferred to farmers. With this we have made the farmers more self-reliant.
While releasing the manifesto, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the elderly aged 70 years and above. He said, 'The biggest concern of the elderly is how they will get treatment for their disease. This concern is even more acute for the middle class. BJP has now resolved that every person above the age of 70 years will be brought under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The BJP manifesto said, 'We will expand the Ayushman Bharat scheme to cover the elderly and provide them with free and good quality health services.' The scheme was launched by the then Finance Minister Arun Jaitley during the 2019 budget. It is also called Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, under which a cover of Rs 5 lakh is currently available.
Meanwhile President Murmu also mentioned 'MY Bharat'. He said that the government has launched 'Mera Yuva Bharat- MY Bharat' campaign to increase participation of youth in nation building. He said that so far more than 1.5 crore youth have registered in it. He also said that the government is also working towards creating a digital university.
