The Bangladesh Hindu Jagran Manch on Friday staged a massive demonstration against barbaric attacks, arson and looting of the Hindu community in Bangladesh after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government. Thousands of Hindus gathered in Shahbagh of the capital Dhaka and raised their voices against the violence against the minority Hindus in the country.
Shahbagh Charrasta remained closed from 4 pm to 7:30 pm. Organizers of the rally cited recent attacks on Hindus, the Dhaka Tribune reported. This also included the burning of four Hindu villages in Dinajpur, leaving many Hindus destitute and taking refuge in the border areas.
Four demands of minorities
Hindu protesters assembled in front of the National Press Club around 3 pm and marched towards Shahbagh Charrasta. At Shahbagh Chowk they numbered in thousands. During the rally, the Hindu community presented four-point demands: the establishment of a minority ministry, the formation of a minority protection commission, strict laws to prevent attacks on minorities and the allocation of 10 percent parliamentary seats to minorities.
'Hindus will not leave Bangladesh'
Speaking at the rally, one said, 'We are born in this country. This country belongs to everyone. Hindus will not leave the country. It is also the birthplace of our ancestors. We didn't fly here. This is no one's father's country. This is no one's husband's country. We will not leave this country. He further said that even if I die, I will not leave my native land. Apart from the rally, a Moner Dayal program was organized.

People who arrived at the rally held slogans written on paper, saying that there is no need for religious education. Let us be educated in the teachings of humanity. One of the posters read that the country will be free only when the nation is educated with good education. Whoever comes to power, we want the security of our homes and religious institutions, said a person who came to participate in the rally.
