Police are searching for escaped prisoners
Police have set up a checkpoint throughout the area and the search is underway to search for prisoners who fled from Karachi’s long jail. Police have re -arrested more than 20 escaped prisoners from areas including Kazafi Town, Shah Latif and Bhans Colony. Rangers have been deployed outside the jail and a search operation is underway in the surrounding areas.

The incident took place in Karachi with a tenth earthquake in 24 hours, with a magnitude 2.4, which was reported in areas like Landi, Sherpao and Law Pad at 11:16 pm. The Meteorological Department said that small earthquakes are common in the area as the Kirthir fault line is near.
Sindh Minister Ali Hassan Zardari has noted the incident and sought a report from the Jail Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General. He has ordered the area to be surrounded and emphasized that anyone who escapes should be captured. The investigation will reveal whether an officer had shown negligence in the entire matter.
