Yajna has been a prominent and unparalleled glory in Indian culture since time immemorial. The Yajna tradition teaches us to live a life of renunciation by offering all work to God. Yajna is a divine force leading life upward and is considered a living monument of Indo-Vedic culture. Yajna has been described as a precious blessing of life in the eternal scriptures.
The glory of Yajna is specially described in the scriptures. According to the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, 'One who receives prasad offered in yajna attains moksha,' while the Upanishads say, 'Yajna is a form of God.' These scriptural verses clarify the spiritual significance of Yajna.
Lord Swaminarayan, to whom Gujarat is eternally indebted, gave special pride to the Yagya tradition of Indian culture by conducting non-violent Yajnas from village to village. His transcendental guruparampara has also continued this holy tradition unceasingly and spread the message of world peace and spiritual welfare.
215 years ago today on the holy and historic day of Poshipurnima, Lord Swaminarayan initiated Akshar Brahm Gunatitananda Swami through Vishwashanti Maha Vishnu Yag in Dabhan. This Vishwashanti Satsang Deeksha Mahayag was organized to commemorate that supernatural and historic event.
Various mandapams including Gunatitananda Mandapam, Bhagatji Maharaj Mandapam, Shastriji Maharaj Mandapam, Yogiji Maharaj Mandapam, Prakum Swami Maharaj Mandapam and Mahant Swami Maharaj Mandapam were built under this Mahayag. Altogether more than 12,000 persons made offerings in about 400 yajnakunds, concluding the yajna with an estimated over 5 lakh sacrificial substances and over 50 lakh chants.
Thousands of Hari devotees and devotees participated in this Vishwashanti Satsang Diksha Mahayag with faith and devotion for various reasons like new marriage ceremony, Matru-Pitru Salvation, prosperity of body, mind and wealth, happiness of manifest Guru Hari, acceptance of Yajnopavita and mental stability.
