The Indian team once again created history in the U-19 World Cup. Team India won the title for the sixth time by winning the final against England at the Harare Sports Club. This is India's biggest achievement, as they are the team that has won the World Cup the most times and has maintained their dominance this time as well. The Indian team performed brilliantly during the tournament, going undefeated and becoming champions.
India's U-19 World Cup champion
Batting first in the final, India posted a mammoth score of 411 for 9 in 50 overs, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi's blistering 175 off just 80 balls playing a key role. Meanwhile, England found it difficult to chase and the match ended in favor of India. Under the leadership of captain Ayush Mhatre, the young players strengthened the team and bravely faced every challenge.
Not a single penny will be received from ICC
However, despite this historic win, Team India will not receive any official prize money from the ICC. It should be noted that the ICC does not offer any cash prize in the U-19 Men's Cricket World Cup. The tournament is a developmental tournament designed to provide growth, experience and skill development to young cricketers. ICC did not give any prize money in the previous edition as well.
BCCI will announce the prize
However, the players of the Indian team need not despair. BCCI often rewards its players with substantial cash prizes for such important achievements. For example, for India's victory in the 2024 U19 World Cup, the BCCI awarded each player a prize of ₹30 lakh. Similarly, after India's victory in the 2025 Women's U19 T20 World Cup, the entire team received a prize of ₹5 crore. Consequently, this time too, the BCCI is expected to make important announcements for the players, support staff and coaching team.
