All the preparations have been completed to make the festival of Mahashivratri grand in Vadodara. This year, the festival of Shivratri will be special, as Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself is coming to Vadodara to participate in the 'Shivji Ki Warya'. The grand procession will begin from the Rina Mukteswara Mahadev temple in Pratapnagar, where Amit Shah will welcome Shivaji near the Red Court and then join the Mahaarti of the gold-encrusted statue of Sarveswara Mahadev in Sursagar.
The Vadodara Police has set up an impregnable fort-like arrangement for the security of the Home Minister and to maintain peace in the sensitive areas of the city. A total of over 3500 police personnel including 8 DCP, 14 ACP, 85 PI and 275 PSI have been deployed under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police.
Notably, the police department is extra alert as there is also a high-voltage cricket match between India and Pakistan on this day. Special arrangements have also been made in as many as 23 main temples of the city. Police are keeping a keen eye on social media to prevent any rumor or untoward incident. The people of Vadodara are very excited about Shiva devotion and the arrival of the VVIP guest.
