IF they weren’t such a faff, we’d start every day with a poached egg.
But despite our best efforts, we always somehow manage to overcook them.

Feel our pain? Then professional chef Kelly is here to help.
Earlier this year, the TikTok star shared her super simple method for poaching eggs with her 540,000 followers.
And we’re kicking ourselves that we never thought of it before.
In a video that’s racked up over 6.3m views, Kelly explained: “I used to have to poach hundreds of eggs for brunch service and this is the foolproof way to make the perfect poached egg.”

Urging people to crack it over a sieve, Kelly says this gets rid of the “loose” bits of egg white – which helps you get a nice circular shape.
Next, she fills a saucepan with boiling water and waits until it’s just started bubbling.

Kelly continued: “Swirl your water and then in the middle of the swirl, gently lower your egg in.
“I then swirl [the water] a little bit more as I like the shape [the egg goes into] when it’s swirled.
“Once the whites form, lift it from the bottom so it doesn’t stick.”
After letting it cook for two to three minutes, Kelly said you can check if it’s cooked by gently pressing down on the yolk.
“The yolk should jiggle,” she said. “But the whites are set.”
What’s more, Kelly says this method allows you to cook several poached eggs at once and results in a deliciously runny yolk every time.
“‘I’ve tried so many different methods for poaching eggs and this one finally worked for me,” one viewer gushed.
