More than chasing podiums or top results, Marc Marquez continues step by step towards full recovery and has had intense battles at every GP since his return. Today he had two of his main opponents on the Ducati of Pecco Bagnaia and then Johann Zarco, and he left praise for the italian bike, without losing his way.
The Honda spaniard began discussing his performance by saying, “I had a solid race, similar to at Motegi.” I began out calmly and gradually found my rhythm. I warmed up the tyres in the rain, and perhaps I could have taken more chances in the opening five or six laps, but I told myself it was time to do this style of racing.
The rider gave it his all while maintaining his performance and momentum, but he ran into difficulties on the course… on the Ducati: “Step by step, I settled into the rhythm, and the speed increased, but the difficulty comes when you’re trailing a Ducati and need to pass them and go much, much quicker.
And he added, “I didn’t locate a place to pass Pecco when I grabbed him.” It was somewhat quicker than him, but not quickly enough, and once Zarco caught up to us, we were invincible. It’s simpler when you’re moving at a good clip and acceleration I’m also content with my day.
