Since the age of 18, the 25-year-old has been a designer. She is now prepared to take the next step.
Despite being just 25 years old, Tia Adeola is prepared to advance to the next phase of her profession as a fashion designer. Adeola began her career as a college freshman when she was just a youngster. At the time, she was the talk of the town thanks to the celebrity appearances of her former line, Slashed by Tia (now just Tia Adeola).
She has made the decision to put construction and quality first as she has grown older. She recently debuted a collection at New York Fashion Week that included ruffles and see-through organza, but possibly with a more sophisticated twist.
One of the most important things for me has been simply expanding my knowledge, particularly in design, as a designer and as a brand, she says IN Style. I really want people to be able to see that kind of development and organization in the clothing, which is a reflection of my life.
I simply believe that the elder generation has to modernize a bit, and I am eager to return home and shake things up.
Inspire by the late Thierry Mugler, one of her favorite designers, this season was also about pushing her personal limits. She tells us, “He was one of the persons I genuinely loved and appreciated.” “He was extremely into dancing and drama, and you felt that in his presentations. I can identify to him in various ways as an artist and as a creator.” This gave Adeola the idea to open her concert with a ballerina performing to Femi Kuti, a musician from her native Lagos, Nigeria. Another aspect of Adeola’s avant-garde vision was the lighting. Each model in the performance had a single spotlight following them, which produced a really dramatic effect. I am quite active;
One advantage of starting up young is that Adeola has already established important connections in the fashion industry, including one with Nike. Even when she was still a college student, the company supported her performance, and they currently supply the shoes she uses for her presentations. Because of their cooperation, Adeola was also able to imitate a 2012 U.S. Open dress worn by Serena Williams. The focal point of Adeola’s interpretation is a beaded headdress. She discovered that the Williams sisters had once had points taken away for wearing beads, so the inclusion of this tribute was crucial.
She will then return to Nigeria with her collection and exhibit her garments there during Lagos Fashion Week. She says, “I’m really anxious. This is due to the fact that this show will be rather unique. “For my contemporaries and the generations that follow, I’m aiming to disrupt the norm. However, keep in mind to respect my parents and my family by not having all of my models be naked, “she claims. “It has a fantastic music culture, a fantastic fashion scene, and talented young people. Simply put, I believe that the elder generation has to modernize a little bit, and I’m excited to return home and make some changes.”
Adeola has spent a large portion of her career in the fashion spotlight, giving everyone a front-row view of her growth as it happens. Her outlook on the future of fashion appears to be one of accepting and having faith in oneself as she grows into herself.
