AN ASDA shopper was left horrified by a mystery white blob on her bananas and claims it has “put her off eating them for life.”
Initially, the Facebook user wasn’t sure what the unusual furry substance was, so took to the group Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas for help.
She wrote: “Anybody have any idea what this white spot is on my banana?
“Brought from Asda yesterday.”
After posting a photo of the yellow fruit, Facebook users were quick to chime in with their guesses for what it could be – and most said spider eggs.
One wrote: “That looks looks like a spiders egg sack. Put in a bag and tie it. I would take it back.”

Another said: “Definitely a spider in there.”
A third wrote: “This happened to me last year.
“Bought some bananas and got a free spiders nest with wee tiny spiders coming out of it.”
Unsurprisingly, the Asda shopper was left shocked by the reaction.

She added: “I can confirm said banana, well the bunch of them (put me off for life) are in the bin outside!
“I may pour boiling water over them incase they hatch inside the bin and wonder into the house because I do NOT do spiders at the best of times! Let alone venomous ones!
“May even burn my bin if I’m honest might be the best option (I am of course joking).”
