EVER wondered what it’s really like to work behind the tills at your favourite fast-food chain?
Luckily one former KFC worker has taken to TikTok to share her experience – including some of the most ridiculous arguments she’s had with customers.
Sophie, known online as @soph_louey, regularly shares entertaining videos with her 1,900 followers.
In a new video, she shares how she reacted to some strange requests while working at the fried chicken chain.
“Hi welcome to KFC, what can I get started for you?”
Sophie, as a customer, replies: “Yes, I want a plain fillet meal, please. Plain fillet meal, no sauce. Plain fillet meal.”
“Okay, so that’s a completely plain fillet meal, right?”
Sophie, as a customer: “Yes, that’s right.”
“Okay, here is your meal.”
As a customer again: “Excuse me, why is there no cheese on my fillet burger?”
“Well, typically the fillet burger doesn’t come with cheese, and you also asked for it completely plain.”
Sophie as a customer again, responds: “Yes, but I still want cheese.”
“Okay, so that would mean it’s not completely plain.”
As the customer: “Okay, well I wanted a fillet meal with cheese completely plain.”
I mean that’s still not plain but here you go.”
In another scenario, Sophie shares a common complaint she often had to deal with.
“Hi, I would like to order this meal, please.
Sophie, speaking as herself, replies: “Yes, would you like fries, beans, corn on the cob or a gravy with that?”
“I’ll have a gravy, please.”
Sophie: “Okay, here’s your meal.”
“Where are my fries?”
Answering as herself again, Sophie said: “Oh, you chose gravy instead of your fries, so I’ve given you gravy.
“Well, I wanted fries instead. It usually comes with fries instead.
Sophie: “No, I’m sorry, that’s the box meal where it comes with fries and a side order. Not the meal that you’ve ordered.
“Well, you should have told me that.”
As herself: “But it’s not the meal that you ordered.”
Later in the video, Sophie shares how a customer reacted when she informed them they couldn’t have plain chicken.
“Hello, can I have chicken but with no breading on it, please?
As herself, she replies: “That’s not possible.
“Well don’t you make all your chicken fresh?
Sophie: “We do, but the whole point is that it’s breaded. 11 herbs and spices and all that.
“No, I still want the herbs and spices, I just don’t want breading.
Sophie: “So you want plain chicken, just with herbs and spices over it?
“No, not plain.
Sophie: “I mean, we couldn’t do that anyway but that’s not a thing.
“Oh, this is ridiculous.”
Fans loved her behind-the-scenes glimpse at her job, with the video gaining more than 21,000 likes and 201,000 views.
In the comments, some of Sophie’s followers shared their reactions, including other fast food chain workers.
One wrote: “Maccies worker here, it’s a hard life.”
Another said: “My personal favourite is can I have chicken please.”
A third added: “The trauma of working there for years came flooding back. I remember running out of chicken and having to stay open anyway.”
