Early reports claim that pro-Palestine activists were at the heart of the protest as the demand for ceasefire in Gaza continues.
It comes as the war between Israel and Palestine terrorist group Hamas continues in the Gaza Strip.
No injuries or arrests have been reported.
Following the incident, a City of London police statement read: “Tower Bridge is currently closed due to protest activity. Officers are in attendance at the scene.”
The bridge has since been “reopened”, added the force.
A spokesperson for City of London police confirmed to The Sun that the bridge was closed for approximately 45 minutes.
They added that all protesters have been cleared of the area and it’s therefore unlikely that the bridge will be re-closed.
