Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif has promised his people that his government will revive Pakistan's economy. It will outpace its neighbors on the economic front by reducing its dependence on foreign funding and bailout packages. Addressing the nation on television on the completion of 100 days of his government, Sharif said that we hope this bailout package will be the last package in the history of Pakistan.
Pakistan's government is in talks to seek another bailout package from the IMF to boost its sluggish economy. This package could be worth 6 to 8 billion dollars. Even in the recent Pakistani budget, Pakistan tried to make policies according to the terms of the IMF.
Emphasizing his point, Sharif said that our government will reduce unnecessary expenditure in the next five years and work on creating and implementing new policies for better education and skills for the youth. He said that inshallah, this will be the last bailout package in the history of Pakistan.
Pak PM said that to achieve these goals we all have to face problems for the sake of our country. This road is difficult, our government is ready to make this change. Sharif said that we will close all those institutions, departments and ministries which are not doing any work for the people and are a burden on the country.
Touting his 100-day government, Sharif claimed that since he came to power on March 4, the inflation rate has come down from 38 percent to 12 percent and loan interest rates have also come down from 22 percent to 20.5 percent. Talking about his fight against corruption, the PM asserted that our government will try to secure a Federal Board of Revenue which will be 100 percent digitalised.
Sharif said that every terrorist, smuggler and tax evader is an enemy of the economy. Pakistan can come out of this vicious cycle of debt only if the government and people have to work together.
