Toke Cosmetics: Celebrating African Beauty, One Product at a Time

In the vibrant and competitive world of beauty and skincare, Toke Cosmetics stands as an icon of innovation, quality, and authenticity. Founded by Olabisi Korede-Dada, a passionate entrepreneur with deep roots in African culture and beauty, Toke Cosmetics has quickly grown from a startup to a leading natural cosmetics company in Africa. With a vision to expand globally, the brand is set to make its mark in the United Kingdom, bringing its unique products to a broader audience.

From Heritage to Global Brand

Toke Cosmetics: Celebrating African Beauty, One Product at a Time

Olabisi’s journey in the beauty industry began during her undergraduate years at Osun State University, where she earned a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry. Her passion for agriculture, manufacturing, and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs) was evident early on, leading her to work with major organizations like Nivea and GSK. However, it was her personal experience and observations of African families’ beauty needs that truly sparked her desire to create something unique.

Olabisi noticed a gap in the market for beauty products that catered specifically to the needs of African families. She understood the struggles of finding products that were not only effective but also safe and natural. This realisation fuelled her mission to redefine beauty standards and challenge conventional norms. She meticulously sourced natural ingredients from Nigeria and other parts of Africa to infuse each product in the Toke Cosmetics line with non-harmful, effective materials that align with the cultural and aesthetic needs of her target audience.

Overcoming Challenges with Determination

Toke Cosmetics: Celebrating African Beauty, One Product at a Time

The path to establishing Toke Cosmetics was not without its challenges. From sourcing quality raw materials to securing funding and finding partners who shared her vision, Olabisi faced numerous obstacles. The infrastructure deficit in Africa and foreign entities’ perceptions of Nigerian businesses added to the complexity of her journey. However, her determination to deliver quality skincare solutions kept her focused on her goals.

Olabisi’s steadfast dedication to quality and authenticity distinguishes Toke Cosmetics as she makes her mark in the worldwide competitive beauty industry, boasting a valuation of

over USD 617 billion. The brand’s use of natural agro-produced raw materials like sesame seeds, shea butter, and African black soap, combined with the unique texture, fragrance, and fast-action results of its products, has earned Toke Cosmetics a distinguished position in the market.

Expanding Horizons: Toke Cosmetics in the UK

Toke Cosmetics will be attending a trade fair at the InterContinental Hotel, Peninsula Ballroom, in London on August 17th and 18th, 2024, as part of its global expansion strategy. This event presents a significant opportunity for the brand to showcase its wide range of natural cosmetic products, including perfumed shea butter, castor oil, body oils, jelly, and black soap, all designed to bring out the elegance and beauty of its customers.

Toke Cosmetics: Celebrating African Beauty, One Product at a Time

Toke Cosmetics’ participation in the upcoming trade fair at the InterContinental Hotel, Peninsula Ballroom in London is more than just a showcase of its products—it’s a strategic move to solidify its presence in the international market. This exhibition marks the brand’s first major entry into the UK, where it aims to connect directly with consumers, industry professionals, and potential partners. By engaging with attendees, Toke Cosmetics will have the opportunity to demonstrate the effectiveness of its products, share the story behind its creation, and highlight the cultural significance of its natural ingredients. The trade fair also offers a platform to gather valuable feedback, which will be instrumental in refining its product offerings to better meet the needs of the European market.

The trade fair is not just about promoting products; it is a platform for Toke Cosmetics to connect with a broader audience, particularly African families in the diaspora. Attending this event aims to increase the brand’s visibility in the UK market, drive traffic to its website, and generate leads. The event is also an opportunity to reinforce the brand’s commitment to celebrating African beauty and heritage, one product at a time.

A Vision for the Future

Toke Cosmetics: Celebrating African Beauty, One Product at a Time

Looking ahead, Olabisi Korede-Dada envisions Toke Cosmetics becoming a leading natural cosmetics company not just in Africa, but globally. The brand’s success stems from its capacity to establish a personal connection with its customers, providing them with products that not only enhance their effectiveness but also align with their cultural identity. The reverberating stories of customers who have experienced the effectiveness of Toke Cosmetics’ products, restored self-confidence, and helped new mothers and their babies, continue to inspire the brand’s journey.

With its commitment to quality, authenticity, and innovation, Toke Cosmetics is well on its way to becoming a household name in the beauty industry. As the brand continues to expand its reach and influence, it remains dedicated to its mission of celebrating African beauty and empowering women to embrace their uniqueness with confidence.
