Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Laos on a two-day visit. PM Modi has specially thanked the organizer for participating in the 21st ASEAN-India Summit. A silver lamp made of 92.5% silver is a testament to the artistry of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The Prime Minister also presented an old brass Buddha statue made of enamel work. It belongs to the state of Tamil Nadu. Crafted by skilled artisans, this gift represents the essence of South Indian craftsmanship and Buddhist philosophy.

PM Modi presented a silver carved peacock statue to the Thai PM. Famous both at home and abroad for its unique carvings, this artefact is a hallmark of West Bengal culture. The beauty of the peacock is found in Indian culture. The artist has meticulously carved the different feathers of the peacock. Which is visible when looking at the artwork.
A unique gift from Patan Patola
Prime Minister Modi presented the Patola sash of Patan to the President of Laos. Patola means silk cloth. It is a part of the ancient tradition of North Gujarat. Its prevalence dates back to the 11th century. The rich history of this art is centuries old. It is believed to have originated in Surat. The PM presented a unique artwork based on the Radha-Krishna theme to the wife of the President of Laos.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi presented the Lao PDR Prime Minister with a table prepared with handmade traditional craftsmanship along with decorative utensils reflecting the culture of Ladakh.
