The third match of the ODI series between India and West Indies women's cricket team was played in Vadodara. In this match, the Indian team registered a great victory. India defeated West Indies by 5 wickets and swept the series 3-0.
Bowling first, Team India bowled out the Haley Mathews captained team for just 162 runs. The batsmen then showed their mettle and chased down this easy target in just 28.2 overs.
West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first in the third ODI. But his decision proved costly for the team. No batsman could survive against the Indian bowlers. Renuka Singh Thakur and Deepti Sharma together took ten wickets for West Indies.
Renuka took 4 wickets for 29 runs in 9.5 overs. While Deepti took 6 wickets by giving 31 runs in 10 overs. Due to the lethal bowling of both, the Indian team restricted the West Indies to 162 runs.
However, while chasing the target, India lost 3 wickets for 55 runs. Then captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an innings of 32 runs and Jemimah Rodrigues played an innings of 29 runs. While Deepti scored 39 runs in 48 balls and Richa Ghosh scored 23 runs in 11 balls.
Thus India chased down this small target in just 28.2 overs. Deepti Sharma made important contributions first with the ball and then with the bat. For this he was selected player of the match.
A 3-match ODI series is being played between India and West Indies. Team India won all these three matches. The Indian team won the first match by 211 runs and the second match by 115 runs and the third match by 5 wickets.
