The Big Bash League, a T20 tournament being played in Australia, witnessed a horrific incident when a fire broke out inside the stadium. A sudden fire broke out at the Gabba Stadium during a match between Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes, causing panic. Due to this, the match had to be stopped for a while, and the spectators who were sitting there were immediately removed. However, it is a relief that the fire was stopped from spreading and no major mishap occurred.
A fire broke out in the DJ booth
A fire broke out during Hobart's innings in this Big Bash League match on Thursday 16 January. Chasing the target, Hobart's fourth over of the innings was underway. Meanwhile, flames suddenly started coming out from a part of the stadium. The fire broke out in the DJ booth built in the stadium. A small spark ignited a fire in the DJ booth set up to play music and make announcements at the stadium, and those present immediately started using fire extinguishers to douse it.

A major disaster was averted
Due to this accident, the match was stopped immediately and the spectators sitting in that section were removed from there. The fire was not very big but it took a lot of effort to put it out. Play was stopped for a while but it was a relief that the fire was finally brought under control. No one in the stadium was hurt and a major tragedy was averted. The situation is not clear as to how the fire started.
Strong batting from Brisbane
As far as the match is concerned, Brisbane batted first and made a strong score of 201 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. From Brisbane, captain Usman Khawaja got off to a fast start scoring 23 runs off just 9 balls. Marnus Labusche then played a brilliant innings of 77 runs off just 44 balls, while Matt Renshaw scored an aggressive 40 runs and finally Tom Aslop played an innings of 39 runs. Nathan Ellis took the most 3 wickets from Hobart.
