After the Champions Trophy 2025, the biggest cricket league is now the turn of the IPL. The 18th season of the IPL is set to begin on March 22. All the teams have brightened their preparations for this season. In the meantime a bad news has come for the Lucknow Super Giants team.
Mayank Yadav, fast bowler of Lucknow Super Giants, is currently struggling against the injury. According to a report, Mayank Yadav will miss many matches in IPL 2025 due to injury. Mayank Yadav was retired by LSG at a mega auction before spending crores of rupees.
Mayank was injured in his T20I debut series against Bangladesh in October 2024. He is suffering from a back injury. According to the ESPNCRICINFO report, Mayank Yadav will be out of the first part of IPL 2025, meaning he will not play about 7 matches. Mayank has recently resumed bowling at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. If he increases his bowling workload and completes all fitness criteria, he will be able to play in the second half of the IPL.
Mayank Yadav was bought by Lucknow Super Giants as uncaped fast bowler before IPL 2024 for Rs 20 lakh. In the meantime he created many headlines. It can bowl consistently at 150 km / h. But he was able to play only 4 matches in IPL 2024. He was then out due to the side strain. He then suffered another injury during recovery.
Although Mayank Yadav was able to play only 4 matches due to an injury last season, the Lucknow super giants showed confidence before the mega auction. The Lucknow Super Giants retained him for Rs 11 crore. But the absence of Mayank in the first part of the tournament is a big blow to LSG. According to the report, the BCCI has not yet given a specific date on Mayank's return. (All Photo Credit: PTI)
