Team India captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli are currently trying to win their own teams in IPL 2025. Both of these players will be busy in the IPL for the next few weeks. But after this, international cricket will come back again and may be important for both the next 6 months.
In the next 6 months, it may be decided whether Rohit and Virat will get maximum money from the BCCI. The reason for this is that the BCCI’s central contract is being delayed and it can now be announced in October.
The BCCI announced the central contract for the women’s cricket team last month. Since then the male team has been waiting for the announcement of the central contract. But the board has not yet announced it, when the BCCI usually allows it by March. One of the major reasons for this is the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, on which no decision has been made yet.
According to a Times of India report, the BCCI has postponed sufficient decision in view of Rohit Sharma’s future in the recent Test format and especially in this format. Although a board source has stated that the board has no problem with continuing the previous contract list, but if it is announced in October, the future picture will be clear.
The debate may be not only about Rohit Sharma’s Test future, but considering his recent form, Virat Kohli’s future is also in question. It is believed that the team will travel to England for the India Test series in Rohit’s captaincy. Also, it is certain that Virat will play in this series. In such a case, the exhibition of the two in this series will most likely decide whether they will get maximum money.
Virat and Rohit are currently in the No.1 category A+, under which they get Rs 7 crore annually. Apart from these two, only Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are in A+ grade. (All Photo Credit: PTI)
