IPL has played 61 matches so far in 2025. Now only 9 matches will be played in the league stage. But all these matches are very important when considering the playoff race. But this time the rain and monsoon have often affected the tournament. Due to the rain, the result of 3 matches could not be determined.
In this case, the BCCI has made a big decision for the rest of the matches. Given the uncertainty of the weather, the BCCI has applied new rules and additional time arrangements to make the matches impartial and exciting.
The BCCI has extended the extra time for the IPL match one hour. It will be time to wait 120 minutes in all IPL matches from May 20. Previously, the period was only one hour and the BCCI said that the change in playing position (Article 13.7.3) was being implemented with immediate effect. The BCCI has reported to all teams about this change.
The BCCI issued a statement and said, “Like the Playoff Phase, an additional hour will be allocated for the game conditions for the remaining matches of the league phase starting on Tuesday, May 20.”
Previously, the terms of the match were the condition that for league matches, an additional 60 minutes was available to resume in the delay state. This time in playoffs matches was increased to 120 minutes. But the IPL Governing Council has now changed.
The IPL Governing Council has also announced the place for the playoff matches. The place has also been fixed in view of the rain. The final of the IPL 2025 will now be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3, while Qualifier 2 will also be held here on June 1.
In addition, Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be organized on May 29 and 30 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. (All Photo Credit: PTI / X)
