Experience The World of Britfield with C.R. Stewart

          Author C.R. Stewart

In a literary landscape often cluttered with predictable plots and recycled themes, C.R. Stewart emerges as a singular voice, masterfully blending creativity, authenticity, and depth. Originating from Newport Beach, California, Stewart is the acclaimed author of the internationally celebrated Britfield series, which offers an exhilarating mix of adventure, mystery, and historical richness that resonates with readers of all ages around the globe.

It follows the thrilling odyssey of orphaned friends Tom and Sarah. Starting at the age of 12 in Britfield & the Lost Crown, Book I, the pair escape from the oppressive confines of the Weatherly Orphanage, a dreadful place where learning is stifled, and children are treated as mere laborers. With wit and courage, Tom and Sarah outsmart the malevolent owners, Mr. and Mrs. Grievous, the unscrupulous caretaker Mr. Speckle, and even the legendary watchdog, Wind. Just before their escape, Tom discovers a clue that is destined to alter the course of their lives forever.

As they are relentlessly pursued by the determined Detective Gowerstone, Tom and Sarah commandeer a hot air balloon, soaring over central England. Their flight leads to an unexpected crash landing at Oxford University, where they gain the sympathy of Dr. Hainsworth, an esteemed professor who resolves to help them reach London safely. However, their journey is fraught with danger; after a forced landing at Windsor Castle, Dr. Hainsworth seeks assistance from a former student, head butler Philip. A white-knuckle chase ensues through iconic sites like St. Paul’s Cathedral and the London Underground, with Detective Gowerstone hot on their trail, with time running out.

The adventure unfolds not only in England but also across Europe. Book II, Britfield & the Rise of the Lion, transports readers to France, while Book III reveals the wonders of Italy. Each installment deepens the mystery surrounding Tom and Sarah’s past, raising the stakes as their international quest unfolds.

Experience The World of Britfield with C.R. Stewart

What began as a concept of two children trapped in a hot air balloon transformed into The Britfield Book series, which has evolved from its initial trilogy into a four-book collection with three more installments planned. Stewart dedicated over four years and more than 2,500 hours to crafting and refining this epic tale—the narrative traverses iconic English locales, including Yorkshire, Oxford, Windsor, and London. Unlike many fictional settings, every location in Britfield is real, which enhances the immersive quality of the story and allows readers to feel as though they are part of the adventure.

Stewart’s extensive experience living in England, combined with over 30 visits to the UK, has profoundly shaped the series. His appreciation for England’s intricate history, diverse culture, and evocative landscapes breathes life into every page. Whether wandering the windswept moors near the Brontë sisters’ home or exploring the vibrant streets of London, Stewart captures the essence, sights, and sounds of England in his writing.

As anticipated, the book became a bestseller and garnered numerous international awards. The announcement of a major motion picture adaptation has further fueled excitement. Breaking away from the fantasy-dominated genre, the film promises to deliver a gripping, real-world narrative rooted in contemporary settings and historical locations throughout England.

Chad Robert Stewart, known by his pen name C.R. Stewart, brings a unique fusion of academic insight and creative prowess to his work. A graduate of Brown University with a degree in British Literature and European History, he also holds an M.B.A. from Boston College. Stewart is pursuing a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Innovation and Executive Management from Claremont Graduate University. This diverse academic background enriches the depth of his storytelling, particularly the historical and cultural dimensions of the Britfield series.

Experience The World of Britfield with C.R. Stewart

More than just a thrilling adventure, the Britfield series is designed to inspire critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning in young readers. Its engaging narratives and rich historical context make it a valuable educational resource embraced by schools and libraries worldwide.

Stewart draws inspiration from literary giants such as Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, and the Brontë sisters. Dickens’ expansive character casts and Lewis’ imaginative worlds influence Britfield’s emotional complexity and narrative richness. The series aims to revive storytelling that respects young readers’ intelligence while providing a world filled with hope, resilience, and adventure.

Now settled in San Diego, Stewart continues to advocate for education and the arts. He serves as an adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University and previously held leadership roles on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Ballet. When he’s not writing, Stewart indulges in world travel, swimming, sailing, tennis, and engaging with the arts—passions that naturally seep into his storytelling.

With over two decades of experience in fiction, non-fiction, and screenwriting, Stewart’s creative pursuits extend beyond the written word. He founded Devonfield, a multifaceted company committed to excellence in film production, publishing, and education. A sought-after speaker and specialist in creativity, he passionately shares his love for learning and storytelling in classrooms and auditoriums around the globe. His extensive experience and unwavering commitment to quality make him a respected and trusted figure in children’s literature.

C.R. Stewart’s Britfield series represents more than a narrative; it’s a movement aimed at reviving the art of storytelling for a new generation. With its real-world settings, richly developed characters, and a steadfast focus on intellectual and emotional growth, Britfield is set to become a lasting classic in children’s literature, providing a valuable and enriching reading experience for young minds.
