The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final is going to be a historic match. On June 3, 2025, teams from Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings will clash against each other at Narendra Modi Stadium. This season has been very good for these two teams so far. These teams were in the top-2 in the league stage and now one win from the title is far away. This match is going to be very special for fans too. They will see a special view after 9 years in the IPL.
Such a final in IPL after 9 years
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are on the first IPL title in the final match of IPL 2025. This will be the first time since 2016 when the two teams, which clash against each other in the final, have not won the title once. That is, after 9 years, cricket fans will see the finals between teams who have not won a single season. This means that the IPL will get its eighth and new champion and this will be the first time since 2022, when a new team will win the title.
Both teams don’t win a single title
Earlier in 2016, the final match was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At that time, both teams had no title and Sunrisers Hyderabad won their first title by beating the RCB. After this, from 2017 to 2024, there was at least one team in each final that won the title first. Such as Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, or Kolkata Knight Riders.
Will get a new champion after 2022
In 2022, Gujarat Titans won its first IPL title, which was a major achievement in its debut season. This was followed by Chennai Super Kings in 2023 and Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024, who were also champions before. But in 2025, a new champion team will rise in the final between RCB and PBKs, which will be the first time since 2022.
The eighth team will get champions
At the same time, 7 teams have become champions so far in the IPL’s 17 -season history. Rajasthan Royals (2008), Deccan Chargers (2009), Chennai Super Kings (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, 2023), Kolkata Knight Riders (2012, 2014, 2024), Mumbai Indians (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020), Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016), and Gujarat. Now, in 2025, IPL will get the eighth and new champion.
