The pitch is the main place of the cricket field, where the bowler throws the ball and the batsman plays it. If it rains, the pitch can get wet, so that the pitch is covered with a large plastic -like sheet to prevent it. This process is called Covering the Pitch (covering the pitch).
If the rain is already estimated, the pitch is already covered. Even when the rains begin during the game, the pitch is covered immediately, so that the water does not go into the pitch.
The pitch must be covered, but also cover up to 4 feet of space next to the pitch. If possible, the Run -up area of the bowler can also be covered.
Just as the pitch is to determine the Ground Authority, it also determines the removal of the cover. But it is decided to talk to the captain and umpire of both teams when to cover or remove.
If it rains before the match or during the current match, the pitch gets wet and it worsens both the batting-bolting position and the players have trouble playing. That is why this rule is necessary to maintain a good position of the pitch. (All Photo Credit: PTI / ICC / MCC / X)
