Wazir Mohammed, the oldest cricketer of Pakistan, died on Monday at the age of 95. He lived in Birmingham, UK.
Test players Hanif, Mushtaq and Sadiq Mohammad's older brother Wazir played 20 Tests from 1952 to 1959 and were the oldest players of the Pakistan team to play the first Test series in 1952.
Famous Mohammad's eldest Wazir also worked as a consultant with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after his retirement. He then went to Britain, where he died.
Like his brothers, stylist batsman Wazir played some memorable innings in Pakistan's opening Test win, including a 189-run marathon innings against the West Indies in the Port of Spain in 1957-58, which ensured Pakistan's victory. Wazir also had a top scorer with 42 runs in the 1954 famous Oval Test win.
