The Indian team is returning to the Test format after completing the ODI and T20 series on the tour of Australia. The two-match Test series between India and South Africa will begin on November 14 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The series was also preceded by a two-match Test series between India A and South Africa A, which concluded on Sunday, 9 November. South Africa A won the match by 5 wickets and set a huge target of 417 runs. The win was special because the South African team scored these runs against the same bowlers who will be part of the team in the Test series.
Temba Bavuma played a strong innings
Veteran batsman Temba Bavuma played a key role in South Africa A's victory. Captain Bavuma, who led South Africa to World Test Championship glory, was part of only the second match of the A series and played only as a batsman. Bavuma didn't get off to a good start, getting out first ball in the first innings and falling victim to a golden duck. However, in the second innings on the fourth day of the match, Bavuma played an important role in the team's victory with his excellent batting.

Bavuma spent a long time at the crease and played a strong innings of 59 off 101 balls. His innings was important as he was returning to the game after being out for several weeks due to injury. Moreover, he scored these runs against seasoned bowlers like Mohammad Siraj, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav and the famous Krishna. Apart from the famous one, the other three Tests are part of the series and both Siraj and Kuldeep are likely to play in the Tests.
A record of women in India
Bavuma's performance against India, especially in India, has not been anything special. Bavuma has played just four Tests in India since his first tour of India in 2015, scoring just 152 runs with one half-century. However, the situation may be different this time, as Bavuma has been scoring consistently for the past year and a half. Meanwhile, he has scored 711 runs at an average of 59 in 13 innings across seven Tests. So, this time the South African captain can prove to be a threat for Team India.
