
Real GDP is projected to grow by 8.2% in the second quarter of FY 2025-26, compared to 5.6% growth in the second quarter of FY 2024-25. Statistics and the National Statistical Office (NSO) have released quarterly estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the July-September quarter (Q2) of the financial year 2025-26. According to the news, these estimates are presented both at constant (2011-12) prices and current prices, including cost components.
Further, the NSO has also released quarterly and half-yearly (April-September) estimates of Gross Value Added (GVA) for various economic sectors for the financial years 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26. These data include annual percentage changes in GVA at basic prices as well as estimates of the expenditure components of GDP at constant and current prices.
A growth of 8.7%
Real GDP (at constant prices) is estimated at ₹ 48.63 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY 2025-26, a growth of 8.2% as compared to ₹ 44.94 lakh crore in the same quarter of FY 2024-25. Nominal GDP (at current prices) is estimated at ₹ 85.25 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY 2025-26, a growth of 8.7% as compared to ₹ 78.40 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY 2024-25.
Meanwhile, real GVA (at constant prices) is estimated at ₹ 44.77 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY 2025-26, as against ₹ 41.41 lakh crore in the same quarter last year, showing a growth of 8.1%. Nominal GVA (at current prices) is estimated at ₹ 77.69 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY 2025-26, as against ₹ 71.45 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY 2024-25, representing a growth of 8.7%.
Estimates of GDP
Real GDP (at constant prices) is estimated at ₹ 96.52 lakh crore for the April-September period of FY 2025-26 (first 6 months of 2025-26), showing a growth of 8.0% as compared to ₹ 89.35 lakh crore in the first 6 months of 2024-25. Nominal GDP (at current prices) for H1 2025-26 is estimated at ₹171.30 lakh crore, a growth of 8.8% as compared to ₹157.48 lakh crore in the first 6 months of 2024-25.
Real GVA (at constant prices) is estimated at ₹ 89.41 lakh crore in the first 6 months of 2025-26, as against ₹ 82.88 lakh crore in the first 6 months of 2024-25, showing a growth of 7.9%. Nominal GVA (at current prices) is estimated at ₹ 155.94 lakh crore in the first six months of 2025-26, compared to ₹ 143.39 lakh crore in the first six months of 2024-25, representing an increase of 8.8%.
