
With the vision of making Gujarat a global manufacturing hub, the state government has allocated a total of ₹ 13,942 crore for Industries and Mines and ₹ 979 crore for cottage and village industries in the budget. This budget mainly focuses on connecting textiles, MSMEs and local artisans with the digital market.
Infrastructure and promotion for industries
The following provisions have been made by the Government to take industrial development to new heights:
- Textiles and MSMEs: ₹2,755 crore has been allocated to promote textile units and ₹1,775 crore to assist MSMEs under the 'Atmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme'.
- Smart Industrial Hub: ₹50 crore is planned for CETP (treatment plant) in Dahej and Saikha and ₹50 crore for setting up advanced smart industrial estates.
- Dholera SIR: ₹182 crore has been allocated for road development and infrastructure in Dholera.
- NEW INITIATIVES TO INCREASE EXPORTS: It has been announced to set up 'Gujarat Export Promotion Council' (GEPC) to enhance the export potential of the state.
Cottage and Village Industry: Digital Revolution for Artisans
The budget has also given special attention to strengthening the small artisans and rural economy:
- Vajpayee Bankable Scheme: A provision of ₹ 494 crore has been made for subsidy to self-employed youth and artisans.
- ODOP and Marketing: ₹25 crore has been earmarked for 'One District One Product' (ODOP) and ₹57 crore for exhibition fairs of Khadi institutions.
- E-Commerce Support: Special assistance will be given to traditional artisans to connect them with modern digital market and e-commerce platforms to increase their income.
