SHREVEPORT, LA, September 16, 2026. Dr. Tony T. Williams has been appointed Clan Bailey Representative for the State of Louisiana by The Honorable Douglas Buchanan Bailey, Chief of Irish Clan Bailey. In this role, Dr. Williams will serve as the clan’s official presence across Louisiana, representing Clan Bailey at Scottish Highland Games, Celtic festivals, and community gatherings throughout the state.
As Clan Representative, Dr. Williams’ duties include attending Scottish Highland Games and Celtic Festivals on behalf of Clan Bailey, collaborating with local clans and Scottish organizations, sharing news and local events with the clan, and carrying out other duties as directed by the Chief. He will represent the clan at notable events such as the Scottish Tartan Festival in Minden, Louisiana, and the Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival in West Monroe, both organized under the Scottish Society of Louisiana Highlands, along with other Highland Games and Celtic gatherings across the state.
Dr. Williams is an Armiger of Clan Bailey and a Captain in the Clan Bailey Honor Guard. These honors recognize his distinguished contributions to the Celtic community and his military service. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology, Master of Arts in Health Care Administration, Education Specialist (Ed.S) in Curriculum Development, and an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Education (PhD(h.c.)). He is currently a candidate for Justice of the Peace in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, and a research author.
About Clan Bailey
Douglas Buchanan Bailey is the 26th and current Chief of Clan Bailey. He was elected Chief in 2003 by an ad hoc derbfine and is recognized as the hereditary Clan Chief. Under his leadership, Clan Bailey was officially registered with the Clans of Ireland in 2020. In 2022, Clan Bailey received recognition from the Council of Celtic Clans and Chiefs, and Chief Bailey was subsequently appointed to its board. The clan emphasizes community support, cultural heritage, and uniting those of Bailey ancestry and anyone interested in Celtic culture.
