Pakistan’s Shahbaz Sharif government may be calling itself democratically elected and making baseless accusations against India, but Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif himself has admitted that he has deep influence from the administration of the army to the foreign policy of the Shahbaz government. This statement of Khawaja Asif has come at a time when Asim Munir is continuously strengthening his control over Pakistan’s politics. Asim Munir has jailed his arch-rival Imran Khan and is moving forward with the intention of destroying Sharif and Zardari politics by dividing Pakistan into many pieces.
Field Marshal Asim Munir is considered as the real ruler of Pakistan. Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir even said that Asim Munir has now surpassed Pervez Musharraf in dictatorship. Amidst all this, now Khawaja Asif has also admitted that all major decisions in the Shahbaz government are taken with the approval of the army. After his statement, the polls of Hybrid Nizam of Pakistan have opened once again. Before this, Imran Khan also worked at the behest of the then army chief and proudly called him a hybrid Nizam.
Munir met Donald Trump alone
In Pakistan, a hybrid Nizam consists of a civilian government and an army head together. The Pakistan Army imposes its views on the government on every important national issue. Decisions about security in Pakistan, relations with neighboring countries especially India, Afghanistan, China and Iran are taken by the army. Since the creation of Pakistan in 1947, many military dictators have ruled. Asim Munire himself visited America alone and also met with Trump. This shows that there is no government above the army in Pakistan.
Khawaja Asif defended this by calling it a hybrid system and said that this is a hybrid system which cannot be called a military regime. Khawaja Asif made this revelation at a time when former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa wanted to extend his tenure in November 2022. Khawaja Asif had earlier revealed that General Bajwa had threatened to impose martial law if his tenure was not extended. So this claim of his has been rejected by former Speaker of Punjab Malik Mohammad. Pakistan’s current army chief Asim Munir is constantly pressuring the Shahbaz-led government to divide some provinces. It is also being claimed that Shahbaz wants to replace Sharif with Mohsin Naqvi as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.
